You Might be thinking Miracles happen? so, how?? it has a one and only answer. It is a prayer. Prayer 'll drive you to your success. Hence lets going to know about prayer and it's miracles..
:-)Prayer:-
Very often, when all else fails man resorts to prayer. But instead of using prayer as a spare wheel, if it is used as the primary force it gives rich rewards. Prayer has often found a route to a successful outcome, where other measures have failed. In the rescue of Apollo 13, this was also the case. Prayer is food for the soul. It is important that we understand what prayer is and learn to pray right. A prayer is a solemn request or thanksgiving to God. Prayer is instinctive to man, and no one can do without it, whatever form it may be. Through prayer one can establish a connecting link with God to help us from the beginning to the end. Therefore direct prayer to God will ensure our success. Prayer is to the soul what is breathing is to the body. It infuses one with spiritual energy.
That is why it is often said, “No prayer – No power, Little prayer – Little power, Much prayer – Much power.” On fine morning, a young man went to an orchard and relaxed under an apple tree. He was wondering about the force which was helping to keep the moon in the orbit, when an apple suddenly landed on his head. He pondered deeper, and a chain of thoughts began to take shape in his mind. A few years later, in 1689 the young man cracked the mystery and proposed the theory of gravity. The young man was no other than Sir Isaac Newton, one of the greatest scientists in history. He gave us the theory of gravity, which is the first force in science. There are four recognized forces in all. The second force, the electromagnetic force, was discovered by James Maxwell in 1864. The third force, called the strong nuclear force and responsible for binding the protons and neutrons to one another in the atomic nucleus, was discovered by Hideku Yukawa in 1935. The fourth force, known as the weak nuclear force, and responsible for some radioactive phenomena, was discovered by Cheng Yang a Chinese born American physicist. In addition to there is a fifth force, which was discovered by mankind many, many eons ago and has been used to get great practical effects ever since. This is the force of prayer. Today science has shown that prayer does work. Why it works on the other had remains a mystery to science. Science can denature plutonium, but it cannot denature the evil that is in the heart of men. Only prayer to God can do that. The great have never wasted their time in answering back in arguing or challenging others, but instead remain steadfast in doing their noble deeds without any hostility or partisanship. They prayed for well being of all.
There is a incident in the great epic Mahabharat. The Pandavas were exiled into forest for 13 years. The story goes that Bheema had a vow of only eating after offering his prayers to Lord Shiva. It was rare to come across a shrine of Lord Shiva in the middle of the jungle. Consequently, on many occasions Bheema went without a meal. One day Arjuna, the younger brother felt pity on his brother. “Come quick brother!” he shouted in excitement. “I have found a Shivling for you to pray.” A Shivling is a symbolic stone representing Lord Shiva. Bheema rushed to the scene and found a Shivling covered in dry leaves under a tree. Without a moment of hesitation he knelt down to offer
his prayer. Arjuna looked on, quite satisfied with himself. He had as a matter of fact, placed a gourd (a large fruit) upside down in the ground so that it would appear like a Shivling. He thought he had done a great favor to his brother. After Bheema’s prayer, everyone had their meal. Arjuna then disclosed the news. Bheema was upset and demanded to see the gourd. They quickly walked over to the tree. Arjuna’s eyes feel on the gourd. Just as he was about to pick it up, he was surprised. The object had turned into a stone Shivling. Arjuna was moved by his brother’s sincere devotion. The force of Bheema’s prayer had transformed the gourd into a real Shivling. This demonstrates the
powerful potential of prayer.
If prayer can bring about a change in nature, space, and body it has the power to change the mind as well. Mahatma Gandhi, the great leader of Indian’s freedom struggle, was a frail man. He was not outstandingly brilliant or influential. But he had charged his mind with indomitable faith in God. Once, even Churchill conceded, “I fear the old man from India.” Churchill was a leader of a victorious nation. Gandhi was a leader of a slave nation. Why would Churchill be afraid of Mahatma Gandhi? The reason is because Gandhi drew strength from prayer and faith. Gandhi took prayer seriously. He used to pray twice a day. President Eisenhower used to say, “You have no
friend out there except God.”
There are two types of prayers – Stuti and Prarthana. When a person describes or praises the glories of God, it is called Stuti. When a person is requesting something in his/her prayer, it is called Prarthana. For prayer to be successful, certain pre-requisites must be fulfilled.
1) FAITH IN GOD – This is the root cause of success. We must realize the all encompassing, all persuasive powers of God and have faith in His glory. Faith means “God listens, God answers.” Faith is all important in a prayer. Sometimes our own prayer goes unanswered because we lack faith in God. A farmer was once praying hard for the rains. But there was little success. He approached his Spiritual master for advice. The spiritual master told him, “Why don’t you get an umbrella first before you pray.” Your problem is that you lack faith in your own prayer.
2) SURRENDER TO GOD – If one has true faith, then one will automatically surrender ones all at the feet of God.
3) LOVE FOR GOD – Before we ask Him for further favors, we must be grateful to Him for what He has given to us without our asking. We must love and respect His commandments and sincerely observe them.
4) PURIFICATION – Purity of the body and soul is the most important factor in winning the love and grace of God. To attain this purity, we must repent for our past mistakes, ask for forgiveness and abstain from committing mistakes in the future.
5)UNDERSTANDING – What about prayers that don’t work? If we have faith in God, our prayer never goes unanswered. But when these prayers appear to go answered, that’s when people raise doubts in God. Sometimes we are asking the wrong questions. God always answers correctly. It is we who ask incorrectly. God is not the enemy of his devotee. Whatever He does, will work in the devotee’s favor. When we don’t get something that we pray for it is for our own good. A child dazzled by the bright light of fire may want to touch it. The child will cry when his mother stops
him. But if the mother had let him touch the fire, no doubt the child would have been injured. Similarly we are simply children before God and we do not always understand what is best for us. So in asking for something, not in our best interest, God may withhold our request. This is the type of understanding we should cultivate. Whatever God does is for our good. “To attempt is our job, to grant success is God’s choice.” With such an understanding we will not feel depressed or dejected when our prayers seem to fail. God answers all our prayers but, in His own mysterious
ways.
6) HONESTY — Honesty is still the best policy. Our prayer must be genuine. “An honest prayer flows from the heart, not from the mind” An honest and sincere prayer is bound to reach God. Moreover it will have a great impact on others. A six year old child used to come to the temple daily. He would sit in front of the idols and bow and sincerely pray. The priest was, surprised at the small child’s regularity and asked, “How do you know how to pray” You are still a small child.” The small child replied, “I say my ABC’s. Then I ask God to arrange all those letters of the alphabets in the way that would please Him. That is my prayer.” The priest was shocked, “You know son, I have been praying for over 25 years. But I feel that your prayer will reach God before mine.” Therefore prayer from the heart and not from the mind always works. Thousands of people have benefited from honest and sublime prayers.
7) ENDEAVOR — Along with prayer, comes effort. It is written, “God helps those who help themselves.” It is vain to expect our prayers to be heard, if we don’t strive as well as pray. Prayers works only when we do. The message here is that we should pray and work towards it. Prayer and effort are the two wings of success. The more we understand this fact, the less disappointed we will become if our prayers seem to fail.
All along, we pray for sensual pleasure s and material gain of this world, while we ignore life beyond the sense the true and absolute spiritual life. So learn to pray for spiritual gains. Through our shortsightedness and narrow-mindedness, we ask for all the riches of this world, but they fail to give us permanent happiness. So we must realize our spiritual objective and pray for success in that direction because it is this spiritual peace and happiness, which is permanent.
Charles Steinmetz, an electrical engineer and the pioneer of A.C. Systems noted, “Someday people will realize that material things do not bring happiness. Then the scientists of the world will turn their labs over to the study of God and prayers. When that day comes, the world will see more advancement in one generation than it has seen in the last four.
As people grow older, their prayers to God change. As children, they pray for good grades, a bicycle, and such other things. As adults they pray for a good job, a loving partner, and a good home. But, all throughout life prayers for spiritual progress must accompany these prayers for material gains. We can conclude quite emphatically that a prayer-less person is a powerless person.
